This immersive weekend workshop offers a deep dive into Embodied Activism, exploring how our bodies carry personal stories, cultural messages, and the power to transform systems of oppression. Through a blend of somatic practices, reflective writing, movement, drawing, and dialogue, we’ll explore six core themes that center the body as a vital site of resistance, healing, and liberation.

We begin with  Writing Our Body Stories , uncovering the personal and ancestral narratives held in our bodies. In  Coming to Our Senses , we reconnect with our sensory experience as a source of embodied wisdom.  Rewriting Body Language  invites us to examine the ways power, identity, and social conditioning are expressed through posture, gesture, and space. With  Reshaping Body Image , we challenge internalized standards of worth and beauty, cultivating more compassionate and politicized relationships with our bodies. In  Activism in Embodied Relationship , we explore how embodiment supports deeper connection, accountability, and collective care in our movements. We close with  Everyday Embodied Activism , integrating small, sustainable practices that align our daily lives with our values for justice and liberation.

Learning Objectives:
.
1. Explore and articulate personal and cultural body narratives as a foundation for embodied awareness.
2. Recognize and transform internalized patterns of oppression through somatic inquiry and movement.
3. Develop sustainable, everyday practices that support embodied presence, relational accountability, and social change.
4. Identify some of the ways power, identity, and social conditioning are expressed through posture, gesture, and space.
5. Cultivate a more compassionate and politicized relationship with our body image.
6. Describe how an intercorporeal ethos supports deeper connection, accountability, and collective care.
